Fused Glass, Bronze, Entrapped Air
30" x 30" x 4"
This work explores the notion of time capsule by considering what traces are left behind in the shifting scales of the cosmos. By capturing air through layers and distances, the work reveals rhythms of movement. Crystalized passages record and convey the traces left by the passage of time, and distance is embedded in the layers radiating from center. Light emits outward, allowing the spiraling image to emerge and affording viewers basking in the light opportunity to imagine this motion and consider the impressions the past year has made on each of us.
